On 11 June 2027, Alessandro Sartori will present the Spring/Summer 2028 collection. The show will take place in the city where the Italian brand opened its first store in mainland China.
Zegna will return to Beijing with its men’s Spring/Summer 2028 collection. The show, designed by Alessandro Sartori, is scheduled for 11 June 2027. From the following day, Villa Zegna will open for several days: an invitation-only space for the brand’s clients, guests and international press.
The choice of China’s capital brings Zegna back to a city that belongs to its history. In 1991, the company opened its first store in mainland China here, at a time when few Western luxury brands had a direct presence in the country. Twenty years later, in 2011, Beijing hosted a show marking that anniversary.
In menswear—and particularly in China and Japan—the name Ermenegildo Zegna has long carried considerable weight. It is known for suits, jackets and made-to-measure tailoring, and for its fabrics: an essential part of the family story, which began at a wool mill in Trivero, Piedmont, more than a century ago.
The quality of the material accompanied the brand’s international growth. In Japan, Zegna fabrics were present in tailoring houses before the opening of its Tokyo boutique in 1989. In China, formal tailoring helped establish the Italian name with clients who recognised the quality and prestige of the brand.
These are not minor details when speaking of a company born from textile production. The weight of a wool, the hand of the cloth and the way a jacket falls across the shoulders all contribute to the character of a suit. Zegna built its reputation among Asian tailors and clients through these qualities as well.
Greater China now represents a significant part of the group’s business: in the first nine months of 2026, it generated about 23 per cent of total revenue. The figure includes the group’s other brands and a wider area than mainland China alone.
The Beijing show will continue the choice to present summer collections outside Milan. In Los Angeles, on the Malibu Pier, Sartori showed Spring/Summer 2027: silk and leather shirts, belted safari jackets and fluid lines. The work on the fabric remains visible in the shape of
