ALDO, GIOVANNI AND GIACOMO. THIS TIME, THE NEW FILM HAS SOMETHING DIFFERENT

Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo return to theaters with Magari un’altra volta, directed by Tobia Passigato and hitting screens January 28, 2027. But this time, the trio seems to have chosen less predictable ground than traditional comedy.

The story begins at night. The Po Valley. A speeding car with two women inside: a commissioner just transferred to the Ferrara Mobile Squad and a young officer tracking a boy who escaped his kidnappers. But one detail immediately shifts the tone. In the trunk lies the head of the anti-drug unit. Unconscious. He’s also the young officer’s father. And the runaway boy? He seems to be the only one who knows what really happened.

From this tangle, the film builds its momentum. Comedy. Crime. Misunderstandings. Chases. The story cuts across Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Sicily and Tunisia. It seems designed to push Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo beyond their usual formulas—without abandoning their identity.

The cast is strong. Nicoletta Romanoff, Galatea Ranzi, Paolo Calabresi, Marco D’Amore, Salvatore Esposito and Claudio Santamaria join them. The screenplay carries the signatures of Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo themselves, alongside Davide Lantieri, Michele Pellegrini and Massimo Venier.

The real curiosity isn’t just seeing them together again. It’s understanding how they’ll work inside a story with a different pace. More narrative. More cinematic. Maybe more unpredictable.

After so many years, the real risk for a trio this recognizable would be repeating themselves. Magari un’altra volta seems to start from a different idea: preserve that chemistry everyone knows and put it inside a new story.
