PITTI UOMO 108: SUMMER SALONS —
THE EVENT EVERYONE IS WAITING FOR
Pitti stands as a forge of trends and an incubator of innovation, in a system that has reached a crossroads: one that must change its format, its DNA, and return to being what fashion once was—the engine of collective fascination.
The 108th edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo, scheduled from June 17 to 20, 2025, at Florence’s Fortezza da Basso, is shaping up to be one of the most pivotal events in men’s fashion worldwide. This year’s theme, “PITTI BECYCLE,” celebrates the bicycle as a symbol of movement, sustainability, and urban energy. A metaphor that aligns with the evolving aesthetic and ethical codes of contemporary menswear.
At a time when fashion is undergoing a deep identity crisis—both culturally and economically—Pitti Uomo is more than a trade show: it’s a critical creative ground. As I wrote recently in my editorial “Fashion: The Machine Turns, But Doesn’t Generate Desire,” the industry keeps running on paper, but it has stopped inspiring. And without inspiration, fashion loses its soul—its cultural role before its commercial one. That’s why expectations for Pitti are sky-high: to act not only as a showcase, but as a true laboratory of ideas, a launchpad for trends, and a compass for where fashion might head next.
TRENDS: TAILORING GAINS GROUND, MERGING WITH VERSATILITY AND NEW NARRATIVES
The Spring/Summer 2026 collections signal a visible return to tailoring—yet with a distinctly modern pulse. Classic lines are layered with technical fabrics, sporty elements, and hybrid influences. The key word is versatility: pieces designed to transition across contexts and times of day, reflecting a blending of form, function, and identity.
Organic materials, natural fibers, and low-impact processes continue to define the new standard of conscious luxury. Today’s menswear speaks a calmer but no less refined language—focused on aesthetic nuance and storytelling that resonates beyond the surface.
INTERNATIONAL GUESTS: ITALY AND PITTI AT THE CENTER OF THE GLOBAL STAGE
With over 730 brands exhibiting—43% of which are international—Pitti Uomo 108 reaffirms Florence’s global pull in menswear.
Among the key names this season:
- Homme Plissé Issey Miyake — Guest of Honor, presenting a collection that fuses technical fluidity with visionary design;
- Post Archive Faction (PAF) — Guest Designer, the cutting-edge Korean brand known for engineering-driven aesthetics;
- South Korea — Guest Nation, bringing a dynamic presence across fashion, music, and visual culture.
A clear sign that Florence remains a capital of refined style and creative relevance.
THE EVENT CALENDAR: BEYOND RUNWAYS AND FORTEZZA WALLS
Pitti Uomo 108 goes far beyond the traditional runway format. In addition to shows inside the Fortezza da Basso, key presentations will unfold in iconic venues like the Sala Bianca at Palazzo Pitti and Stazione Leopolda.
The Fondazione Pitti Discovery will curate exhibitions, avant-garde installations, and culture-focused projects. Evenings will come alive with exclusive parties, private receptions, and networking moments that attract buyers, media, tastemakers, and creative minds from around the world.
This is a week where fashion becomes a multisensory experience—a living conversation. As we know, Pitti isn’t confined to the exhibition halls: it spills out into the streets of Florence’s historic center and into the night, where the masters of street style will make their most iconic statements.
