CLAMOROUS NEWS AT NY FASHION WEEK TOM FORD LEAVES

NYFW

Tom Ford on the eve of his digital presentation scheduled tonight at 7pm, the Texan designer, as well as president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, changes his mind and leaves New York fashion week. The news was released by WWD which talks about “unforeseen circumstances related to Covid-19”, announcing that the lookbook of the fall / winter 2021-22 collection will be shared on the Runway360 digital platform on Friday 26 February. Already reduced to just 4 days and devoid of historical names such as Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren and Michael Kors, Nyfw also loses its one big name before closing the curtain on an edition far from the glories of just a few years ago.

Ford’s new appointment, moreover in conjunction with Milan fashion week (23 February – 1 March), will still be part of the unlimited program that characterizes the American Collections Calendar. The new hyper-inclusive formula created by the CFDA president also includes all the American brands that do not present during the four official days of Nyfw. The simple nationality ensures the inclusion in the stars and stripes cauldron regardless of the date and location of the event.

Starting from tomorrow we can read the appearances of Gabriela Hearst, Zimmerman and Proenza Schouler. Carolina Herrera’s fashion show will be on February 23, the same date also for Coach. Oscar de la Renta instead is scheduled for March 2, followed by Rick Owens, Altuzarra and Thom Browne. The growing roster of talents fleeing the Big Apple is now joined by the one who should best promote American fashion.
