PRADA
At Milan Fashion Week, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons presented their Spring/Summer 2026 collection, transforming the very idea of a uniform. No longer a rigid code, but a mosaic of possibilities: patchwork skirts, work jumpsuits that transform into evening gowns, inside-out silhouettes that overturn the hierarchy of dress.
The underlying theme is freedom, understood as the body’s emancipation from the constraints of the wardrobe. The collection features garments that change, break down, and reassemble. “We create with the world around us in mind,” explained Miuccia Prada, “and today’s uncertainty pushes us to seek clothes capable of transformation. The ability to combine different elements becomes a choice, and therefore autonomy for the wearer.”
Raf Simons emphasized that the freedom evoked is not only aesthetic but also physical. The clothes move away from the idea of sculptural imposition and become instruments of expression and movement. The uniform, a historic Prada trait, is thus reinterpreted as an open field: a strong and elegant woman, yet never stripped of her individuality.
My take on the
Prada fashion show continues to resonate with the global market for reasons beyond seasonality. It has never betrayed its DNA, and each collection remains recognizable. Added to this is obsessive research: from fabrics to tailoring techniques, to the use of unexpected materials.
The group’s structure is crucial. On one side, Miuccia and her team, with the conceptual vision; on the other, Patrizio Bertelli, who translates those ideas into reality thanks to a solid and meticulous organization. With the arrival of Raf Simons, the creative dialogue has expanded, generating new possibilities.
The result is a modern woman, never stereotyped. Practical and understated, yet edgy and capable of self-irony. An elegant and functional femininity, enhanced by color combinations that only Prada dares: from lemon yellow to acid green, made possible by technical fabrics and unique expertise.
In a market plagued by crisis and uncertainty, Prada isn’t slowing down. It’s growing, going against the grain, thanks to a clear identity and a capacity for innovation that no other brand can match. This is the secret of a group that, together with other Italian brands, is building a cultural and economic hub of growing influence on the global stage.
