Considering the current context, marked by the Chinese crisis and the persistent absence of the Russian market, the results of Pitti Uomo 107 represent a sign of recovery for the Italian fashion hub. As of January 16, 2025, the day on which many buyers and professionals in the sector have already left Florence to fly to Milan, in view of the Milan Fashion Week, the partial balance of the event is decidedly positive.
With almost 12,800 registered buyers, of which about 4,700 from abroad, this year’s edition marks a 6% increase compared to the previous year for foreign buyers, while Italian attendance remains stable. A result that confirms the central role of Florence and Pitti as a global platform for men’s fashion and Made in Italy.
Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine, highlighted the importance of this edition to overcome the uncertainties that have characterized the sector in recent years. «Much of the success is due to the exhibitors – he declared – who have invested by presenting high-quality collections, characterized by stylistic and productive innovation. Furthermore, many price lists reflect a balance between the valorization of materials and attention to consumer prudence».
On the eve of the closing of the event, scheduled for January 17, 2025, the numbers speak for themselves: almost 8,000 Italian buyers and 4,700 foreign ones have already been registered, with the prospect of exceeding the 5,000 mark for international buyers. The most represented foreign countries include Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, Holland, Turkey, Japan, the United States, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Russia, South Korea, China, Sweden and Canada.
Agostino Poletto, general manager of Pitti Immagine, expressed great satisfaction for the participation and the level of quality achieved. «Pitti Uomo confirms itself as a global platform for exchange and communication – he said – and what is striking is the sense of solidarity among buyers, who think in terms of the system and not just of individual companies. A feeling of unity that has rarely been perceived so strongly».
With this result, Pitti Uomo 107 not only consolidates its role as a point of reference for men’s fashion, but also relaunches confidence in the ability of Made in Italy to adapt and innovate in an increasingly competitive global scenario.
