FENDI OPENS MILAN FASHION WEEK WITH ELEGANCE AND RECALLS OF THE TWENTIES

In the frame of a minimalist scenography, dominated by a series of cubes that open like magic boxes in the grand finale, Fendi presented a collection that combines transparency and layering in a game of refined elegance. The models walked the runway wrapped in light fabrics of transparent chiffon, embellished with crystals and veils, with long white skirts that resembled reversed tank tops. The overcoats transform into fluid dressing gowns, alternating with dresses and loose shirts, while the feet alternate between sturdy lace-ups and jeweled sandals with tiny heels.

The collection, while playing with the see-through effect, avoids any form of exhibitionism, focusing on an essential and sophisticated aesthetic, emphasized by a soundtrack that mixes piano notes with the voices of the Fendi women. The words in the background evoke the figure of Adele Casagrande , founder of the brand in 1918, who together with her husband Edoardo opened the first leather goods and fur workshop in Rome. It is the beginning of a great Italian story, which has surpassed the century, with the family leadership passed from generation to generation, from Adele’s five daughters to the current creative director Silvia Venturini Fendi , supported by her daughter Delfina Delettrez, head of the maison’s jewelry.

The SS25 show, curated by Kim Jones , is inspired by the 1920s, the birth of the maison and a period of great creative vitality, influenced by jazz, the Charleston and Art Deco. The collection recalls this cultural ferment, with graphic details and fringes that bring to mind the atmospheres of The Great Gatsby and Mrs. Dalloway.

Fendi opened Milan Fashion Week in style, which this year started early on Tuesday, extending the fashion week by one day. There are 173 events scheduled, including 57 physical fashion shows, 69 presentations and 33 events, for a kermesse that promises to be unforgettable.
